CARE PRACTICE STATEMENT
It is the intention and aim of staff at Foley House, to maintain a happy, safe,
loving, caring and warm environment for anyone wishing to make this their home.
Twenty-four hour care is offered, and all Residents' individual needs are identified,
addressed and met wherever possible so that Residents do not lose their self
identity, and great care is taken to allow for the needs of privacy, personal
freedom, dignity, independence, self esteem, self-choice and self-advocacy.
RESIDENTS RIGHTS
It is the policy of the management of Foley house to respect and actively promote
residents' human rights; rights of personal freedom, choices in daily living,
personal dignity and self-respect, independence, privacy and the exercise of
free will. Residents may have access to any personal information on them maintained
by the home. There is a residents' Committee to ensure that residents are involved
in the decision-making processes of the home. As an organisation we are continually
striving towards equal opportunities in all spheres.
VISITORS
Visitors are welcome at all reasonable times. A meal can be provided for which
we ask for 24 hours notice if possible to facilitate catering arrangements.
Tea & coffee are always available.
STAFF
All staff receive induction training from day one to ensure they are familiar
with the essential philosophy of care. Each member of staff is supervised regularly
to identify the training requirements for their work such as care training,
moving techniques, first aid, etc and their own perceived training needs and
aspirations. Staff receive formal training in British Sign Language and Deafblind
Communication to enable a high standard of communication skills to develop between
residents and staff. Courses include: B.S.L. - C.A.C.D.P. - Sign language, Deafblind
Communication - C.A.C.D.P. - Deaf Awareness - R.N.I.D.- R.A.D. , R.A.D. Courses,
N.V.Q. - Direct Care Level II - 'In House Training' including NVQ training under
the supervision of the Care Manager who is a qualified assessor.
FEES
Residential Home:-from£595.00 per week (From 1/4/2005) some 'premium'
rooms available (The fees are usually paid by the benefit system with a local
or health authority top up)
Please always feel free to discuss any financial issues or difficulties as we
may be able to help or put you in touch with others who may also be able to
help.
Planned Respite/Short Stays - These would be charged at the above rate with a daily charge from £85.00 according to needs, wishes and requirements.
Day Care - Day Care is charged at £45.00 per day plus
transport and driver/escort costs
Transport costs are:----------mileage at 40p per mile
Driver/Escort costs are:----------charged at £7.50 per hour.
